{ simple life }

I’ve mentioned a few times that Mr. Crackers and I will ideally be moving out of the city one day in order to shack up inside a little country cottage.  The city life is exhausting, tiring…a pace of life that vibrates at a much different frequency than our own.

I am fully aware that most of my “cannot slow down, must achieve more” attitude is thanks to the environment I am in.  It is not nurturing, and we certainly do not intend to raise children in such a place.  Our goal?  When our mortgage term is up and we are prepared to renegotiate (that’s 2012, for those of you unaware of our mortgage conditions), we’d like to leave then.  In 2012, Mr. Crackers and I should be settled enough in life to know the next step…a step ‘backwards’, in essence, to a time and a place far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern living.

We want to have a dirt road.  We want to raise chickens.  We want to preserve food for the winter.  We want to use a clothesline instead of a dryer.  We want a woodstove.  With a goal of balancing our modern life with a “back to basics” approach, I found these photos from baileys to be really strong and motivating.  What do you think?  What do these evoke to you?
