3 bags of pasta (macaroni, rotini and spaghetti) $4.23

1 container of gravy mix (key ingredient here) $3.69

3 cans of beans (1 kidney, 2 chickpeas) $2.07

2 large bricks of cheese $9.98

4lbs of butter (3 unsalted, 1 salted) $17.16

TOTAL – $103.60 ($3.60 over budget)

Not bad, if I do say so m’self.  Could have shaved $13.66 (plus taxes) off our bill, had we not gotten a few impulse purchases.  Flour, butter and cheese were, not surprisingly, our biggest expenses.  You will also notice an utter lack of meat, which also kept the bill down.

Menu items for the next few weeks include: bread (lots and lots of bread, as per Mr. Crackers’ request), chili, shepherd’s pie, spaghetti and meatballs, pork chops, schtew, another roast, borscht, more bread, and more bread.
